Description: The challenge in this project was to manage a “fast track” “design-construct” style project in a semi BIM environment. The project had a very tight detailing window to allow the structure to be installed during the rail line shut-down. As shown, limited site space required large sections of the roof to be pre-assembled on the ground nearby and lifted into position during the shutdown.
Description: The detailing challenges in this project included dealing with several different use buildings that each required a unique detailing approach. For example, the maintenance building has overhead cranes, access platforms, ladders, and girts inside and outside with bracing in between. The control tower was fully assembled on the ground in four pieces and lifted into position on the 30m high concrete tower.
Description: While all Bunnings stores have that familiar look and feel to the customer, the structures of those buildings are all quite different. JBD excels at completing these fast tracked projects accurately and on time.

Description: The Global Change Institute Building was designed as a “Living Building” to meet the worlds most advanced levels of sustainability, to work with the natural environment and to operate as a zero-energy and carbon neutral workplace. At the 2014 Australian Steel Institute’s National Steel Excellence Awards, JBD Steel Detailing was excited to be a part of the winning team that received a High Commendation for this project.
Description: This project incorporated the detailing of the structural steel, the precast concrete panels and elements of the finishing metalwork. This involved many complex assemblies to suit the flowing and morphing architecture of the building along with the many different finishes required. Our 3D modelling of all these elements ensured the successful installation on site.
